Madoka Magica gets a Brazilian Portuguese dub in this release cycle. The Puella Magi Madoka Magica film trilogy received, on October 8, an official streaming calendar and the first Brazilian Portuguese dub of the movies. Aniplex of America and Fathom Entertainment announced the package at New York Comic Con: Beginnings, Eternal and Rebellion arrive on Crunchyroll on November 8 and on Netflix on January 2, 2027.
The new Brazilian Portuguese and Latin American Spanish dubs start on November 15, according to the joint release. Netflix Anime confirmed on X that the trilogy reaches the service in January 2027 with those audio tracks. The TV series had previously circulated on Netflix and Funimation in Brazil, but Rebellion had no official local release.
What changed from what was already known
This is not the announcement of the new film. In September, Geekiki had already reported Maaya Sakamoto joining the cast of Puella Magi Madoka Magica the Movie -Walpurgisnacht: Rising-. What is new is distribution: Fathom is bringing Walpurgisnacht: Rising to US theaters from January 16 to 19, 2027, in subtitled and English-dubbed versions. The official trailer is on Fathom's YouTube channel.
A theatrical run in Brazil is not confirmed. JBox reported interest from Sato Company, with no distributor locked and no guarantee of a dub in theaters. The Aniplex release also does not list Brazilian voice actors. The Magia Record cast has not been officially confirmed as the same.
Why it matters
Beginnings and Eternal reorganize the 2011 series by Akiyuki Shinbo and Gen Urobuchi, with changes from the TV cut. Rebellion (2013) is the continuation Brazilian viewers mostly followed through unofficial channels. Pre-orders for the UltraHD Blu-ray trilogy box are open at Crunchyroll and MediaOCD, with a US physical release set for October 15.
