Resolution Games announced on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, that GrimKeep launches on November 30 for PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam at $14.99. The game is a dark-fantasy roguelite that swaps the usual deckbuilder deck for a bag of dice.
A PC demo is already downloadable and stays available through the end of October's Steam Next Fest, set for October 19-26. According to the release notes carried by Gematsu, the demo covers the Outskirts region, three playable heroes, and persistent upgrades that carry between runs.
Dice instead of a deck
Director David Filipe described GrimKeep as a passion project for part of the team, born from an internal gameplay share. The pitch is that it can play casual or hardcore depending on how the player builds.
In a run, the player finds items, adds and upgrades dice, cuts the ones that hurt the odds, and turns rolls into poker-style combos. The goal is to fight through a cursed city to the castle where the princess waits. Official material is blunt: you are not going there to save her.
Each descent is turn-based and self-contained. Resolution Games estimates sessions from a short break to a one-to-three-hour evening, depending on the risk the player accepts.
What ships at launch
- seven playable heroes and seven dice types;
- 30 unlockable hero skills;
- more than 200 items and more than 60 monsters;
- multiple regions, beyond the slice in the demo;
- hand-drawn 2D art between dark fantasy and Lovecraftian horror.
On PC, the Steam version covers Windows, macOS, and SteamOS/Linux. On console, the announcement confirms PS5. This release does not set a date for Xbox or Switch 2.
Resolution Games is the studio behind Demeo, Demeo x Dungeons & Dragons: Battlemarked, Spatial Ops, and Angry Birds VR. GrimKeep is a small-team project inside the company, not a direct spin-off of those games.
The Steam page already accepts wishlists: GrimKeep.
