The XREAL AURA received an official Japan price on October 8, 2026. XREAL opened remaining-balance payments for people who already bought a reservation pass: the 12 GB memory and 256 GB storage model is 229,800 yen, and the 16 GB / 512 GB model is 269,800 yen, tax included.
What happened?
The Japanese subsidiary's release describes a split design. The optical see-through glasses weigh under 95 grams and promise a field of view of up to 70 degrees. Processing sits in a separate pack running Android XR and Google Play, which also works as a trackpad. The device was built with Google and Qualcomm, combines the Gemini assistant and the Snapdragon Reality Elite chip, and includes Sound by Bose audio plus hand tracking.
In the United States, the official store lists the entry model at US$1,279. There are two IPD sizes, M (60–66 mm) and L (66–72 mm). Priority shipping covers Japan, the United States, Canada and South Korea this year; other markets wait until 2027.
Why it matters
XREAL AURA is one of the first consumer products to put Android XR, Google's glasses and headset platform, into lightweight glasses instead of a closed helmet. For people who play or watch on a PC or console, the pitch is a large virtual screen that does not take over a desk. The Japanese price sits in midrange-laptop territory, not cheap-accessory territory.
What changes in practice
Anyone who bought a pass by October 7 can already pay the rest. Founder-pass holders must finish by 11:59 p.m. Japan time on October 17 to secure the serial-numbered edition. Reservations made after October 7 only open balance payment on October 31. General sales have not started and are expected within a few weeks. Orders unpaid by April 28, 2027 are cancelled with an automatic refund.
Cofounder and CEO Chi Xu described AURA as a wearable computer for film, games, sports, work and development. The company did not publish battery life or panel resolution in this release.
