The Witcher 3 Remastered gets patch 5.01 with combat, boat and interface fixes

The Witcher 3 Remastered received patch 5.01 on October 8, 2026. CD PROJEKT RED has already shipped the update for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Remastered on PC — Steam, GOG, Epic Games Store, Battle.net and Xbox Play Anywhere — as well as PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

The official note frames the package as further polish for the remaster, not as new content. The list highlights combat, traversal and interface fixes that showed up in specific sessions.

What changes in gameplay

Among the fixes confirmed by CD PROJEKT RED:

  • Automatically Apply Blade Oils no longer works only if it was enabled during the current session;
  • player-controlled boats no longer move uncontrollably or ignore terrain collisions in specific circumstances;
  • ladder interaction animations were improved;
  • Geralt no longer collides with dead enemies after the Aard finisher;
  • Vesemir no longer repeats the same line when Quen is cast multiple times;
  • dodging no longer has an unintentionally delayed response;
  • it is no longer possible to throw a bomb when the option is disabled;
  • the Synergy skill bonus no longer displays incorrect values;
  • Exploding Shield now reflects damage;
  • Geralt's stamina is no longer fully drained when sprinting and dodging at the same time.

Interface

On the interface side, the studio fixed the ability-point pop-up that could stay stuck on screen, input hints flashing briefly on the meditation screen, and the potions tutorial that did not appear after opening the Consumables tab.

The official note does not present 5.01 as a broad rebalance. It is a set of targeted fixes, relevant for players already in the remaster who ran into these cases — especially runaway boats, delayed dodge and stamina emptied by the sprint-and-dodge combo.
