GTA 6 radios: Rockstar reveals six stations and on-demand podcasts

GTA 6 radios got an official preview on Thursday, October 8, 2026. Rockstar Games opened samples of six stations in Grand Theft Auto VI and said the game will have the series’ widest in-game radio selection. Launch remains set for November 19.

What happened?

The stations cover pop, metal, country, Latin music, African music and southern hip-hop. In Rockstar’s own descriptions, the opening lineup is:

  • Cocoteo FM, with El Martillo and La Gata, focuses on contemporary Latin music, from bachata and merengue to dembow and reggaeton.
  • Back Country Radio, with MW and Delta Dawne, sends country to Grassrivers, Port Gellhorn and the rest of Leonida.
  • AfroBank FM, with Burna and Palmsy, mixes African classics with current sounds such as amapiano and 3-step.
  • The Chamber 106.6, with DJ Kerry and DJ Tom, brings metal from the 1980s onward.
  • Flash FM, the Vice City name, returns with pop hosted by Robyn and Alex.
  • Dirty South Classics, with Trick and Trina, plays regional rap and hip-hop.

Audio previews are at rockstargames.com/VI/music. The official post is on the Rockstar Newswire. Press reports that listened to the samples cite snippets associated with names such as Bad Bunny, Black Sabbath, Pantera and Slayer; Rockstar has not yet published the full licensed track list.

Podcasts in the car and on foot

The format change is the series debut of on-demand podcasts. For the first time, Rockstar says, players will hear fictional shows about events in Leonida, the state inspired by Florida. Radio and podcasts work in a vehicle or on foot: Jason and Lucia connect headphones or earbuds to the character’s phone.

That changes how the soundtrack is used. In earlier games, radio was mainly a car feature. In GTA 6 it follows the player on foot, closer to a real smartphone, and gives hosts, jokes and in-world news more airtime.

Why it matters

Radio has always been a Grand Theft Auto signature: beyond the music, hosts comment on the map’s politics, ads and crime. Naming six stations, hosts and genres a little over a month before launch signals that Rockstar is starting to define Leonida’s cultural tone without showing the full station list yet.

The company talks about at least six radios and indicates more will be shared later. Pre-order pricing was already live; what changes now is what players will hear between missions.
