Ascendance of a Bookworm Part 4 gets a WIT Studio anime, with no date yet

Ascendance of a Bookworm Part 4 is getting a television anime. The team announced on Saturday, October 3, 2026, that Part 4 of Miya Kazuki's light novels is in production. The arc is titled Founder of the Royal Academy's So-Called Library Committee. Production of Ascendance of a Bookworm Part 4 stays at WIT Studio, the same studio as Part 3. No premiere date was given.

What was announced

The notice for Ascendance of a Bookworm Part 4 went out on the official site and the series accounts after Part 3, Adopted Daughter of an Archduke, finished. According to Anime News Network and Crunchyroll, Part 3 premiered on April 4, 2026, on Yomiuri TV and NTV at 5:30 p.m. Japan time and closed on Saturday after two cours, about half a year on air. Crunchyroll streams that season with English subtitles and an English dub.

The announcement also posted an ending-card illustration by original artist Yū Shiina. The studio asked fans to wait for further news. Direction, cast and a window for Ascendance of a Bookworm Part 4 have not been confirmed.

What Part 3 left in place

Yoshiaki Iwasaki directed Part 3 at WIT Studio, replacing Mitsuru Hongō, who had led earlier seasons. Mariko Kunisawa returned for scripts, Aiko Minowa for character designs and MICHIRU for the score. Yuka Iguchi and Show Hayami again played Rozemyne (formerly Myne) and Ferdinand. New Part 3 cast included Yukari Tamura as Georgine, Mami Koyama as Veronica, Minami Takayama as Florencia, Kazuhiro Yamaji as Bonifatius, Nao Tōyama as Angelica and Asami Seto as Brigitte.

The first season aired in October 2019, with 14 episodes, and the franchise changed studios before WIT took Part 3. Keeping the same studio for the next arc lowers the chance of a visual reset right after a season finale.

Why it matters

Bookworm is a library isekai, not a power fantasy: Myne, a university student who dies and is reborn in a world without accessible books, climbs noble ranks to make paper, ink and a publishing industry. Ascendance of a Bookworm Part 4 sends Rozemyne to the Royal Academy after a two-year sleep, according to the English synopsis published by J-Novel Club and cited by Crunchyroll. It is the stretch where the story trades the Ehrenfest court for classes, factions and the library committee she invents herself.

For streaming-only viewers, Ascendance of a Bookworm Part 4 means confirmed continuation, not an imminent premiere. Until a date, staff and trailer arrive, what is watchable remains Part 3 on Crunchyroll and the English light novels at J-Novel Club.
