Google today, October 13, 2026, released the frontier model Gemini 4 Argon to Google AI Pro and Ultra users in the Gemini app, AI Mode in Search, and Ultra in Antigravity, plus developers and enterprises via API.
What happened?
After months of restricted testing with cybersecurity defenders in the Fairwind program, Argon arrives with frontier reasoning, improved performance on complex tasks, and less hedging. It stands out in coding, finance, law, science, and cybersecurity, leading the Vals Index.
Introductory pricing is $2 per million input tokens and $10 output until November 30, then doubles. Output limit reaches 1 million tokens.
Why it matters?
Argon puts Google back in the frontier model race, competing with GPT-6 Astra and Claude Opus. Internally, it already accelerates code refactoring, optimizations, and vulnerability detection.
What changes in practice?
Pro and Ultra users can switch between chat and tasks, connect over 40 apps, and use Antigravity for agentic coding. Businesses gain access via Gemini for Business and API.
