Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis ends service on October 6, 2026, at 11 p.m. PDT. In Brasília time that is October 7 at 3 a.m.; in Japan, 3 p.m. Square Enix set the date in July, for both the Japanese and global versions, on mobile and Steam.
The official notice is on the game site and was reproduced by Gematsu on July 7. What changes now is not the announcement: it is the shutdown. After that hour, the servers go offline. Square Enix said account data will be deleted once the end-of-service procedures are complete.
What Square Enix said
In the producer's letter, Shoichi Ichikawa wrote that it had become difficult to balance production cost and demand for character weapons and gear. He also treated the look of that equipment as a priority, because players see what characters wear. Sales of paid Red Crystals ended on July 7; crystals already bought could be used until the service ended. Refunds of unused paid currency were indicated only for residents of Taiwan.
Ever Crisis launched on iOS and Android on September 7, 2023, and on Steam in December of the same year. On September 6, 2026, the three-year anniversary, the producer said the final chapter of the Final Fantasy VII saga inside the game would be released. In the months before the end, the plan was to bring back older content, with Guild Battles and gratitude campaigns.
Why it matters
Ever Crisis was the condensed, free version of the Final Fantasy VII timeline, with a weapon gacha. The shutdown does not remove the other games in the series. It takes offline a live service that Square Enix itself described as hard to sustain on the balance between cost and gear demand.
Anyone still with an account needed to use crystals and follow events before the cutoff. After 11 p.m. PDT on October 6, the game stops operating.
