Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed lands on Switch 2 with Joy-Con 2 mouse controls

Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed arrived on Nintendo Switch 2 on October 6, 2026. Nintendo's official store listing adds higher-resolution visuals, an improved frame rate, mouse-style controls with Joy-Con 2 and the Costume Pack.

What happened?

Nintendo lists the Switch 2 version with a release date of October 6, 2026. THQ Nordic publishes the game and Purple Lamp developed it with Disney Games. It is the 2024 remake of the 2010 platformer originally envisioned by Warren Spector.

Nintendo highlights higher resolution, a better frame rate, mouse-style controls using Joy-Con 2 and the costume pack. It is single-player and rated E10+ by the ESRB for fantasy violence. Brazilian Portuguese is among the supported languages.

Why it matters

Epic Mickey is one of the rare Disney games in which the player really changes the scenery. Mickey uses a magic brush: paint restores the world and thinner erases or alters paths. Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, Yen Sid and Pete appear along the way. The remake added dash, ground pound and sprint. On Switch 2, Joy-Con 2 mouse controls fit the brush better than an analog stick.

What changes in practice?

Anyone who already played Rebrushed on PC, PS5 or Xbox does not get a new campaign. The gain is portability, the included costume pack and the visual and control upgrades Nintendo describes.
