Ascendance of a Bookworm (Honzuki no Gekokujou) is getting a Part 4 anime. On Saturday, October 3, 2026, the team announced a television adaptation of Founder of the Royal Academy's So-Called Library Committee (Kizoku-in no Jishō Tosho Iin), once again at WIT Studio. A premiere date for this new stage of Ascendance of a Bookworm has not been confirmed.
What happened?
The Ascendance of a Bookworm news followed the end of Part 3, Adopted Daughter of an Archduke, which premiered on April 4 on Yomiuri TV and NTV and finished this Saturday after two consecutive cours. Anime News Network and Crunchyroll reported the confirmation posted on the series site and official accounts.
The source is Miya Kazuki's light novel, published in English by J-Novel Club. Part 4 of Ascendance of a Bookworm follows Rozemyne after a two-year sleep, in a world that is no longer the one she left, and moves the story into the Royal Academy and the library committee that names the arc.
What is known about the production
WIT Studio is returning to Ascendance of a Bookworm. On Part 3, Yoshiaki Iwasaki directed, Mariko Kunisawa handled series composition, Aiko Minowa designed the characters and Michiru composed the score. Yuka Iguchi and Show Hayami returned as Rozemyne (formerly Myne) and Ferdinand. New cast included Yukari Tamura (Georgine), Mami Koyama (Veronica), Minami Takayama (Florencia), Kazuhiro Yamaji (Bonifatius), Nao Toyama (Angelica), Asami Seto (Brigitte) and Katsumi Fukuhara (Zack).
That describes the season that just ended. The Part 4 notice confirms the studio and the arc, but does not say whether direction, scripts and cast carry over. The first season of Ascendance of a Bookworm premiered in October 2019 with 14 episodes. Crunchyroll already streams the current seasons with subtitles and an English dub.
Why it matters
Ascendance of a Bookworm is an isekai built more around books, printing and noble politics than combat. Part 4 is the stretch in which the heroine enters the Royal Academy. Without a date, the announcement mainly confirms that the adaptation continues right after Part 3, at the same studio that closed the previous arc.
