Zenless Zone Zero 3.3, the Journey to the Sky update, arrives on October 21. miHoYo confirmed the date in the special program, with two S-rank agents, a story on the sky island of Roscaelifer and a new combat mode in which the Proxy pilots mechs.
Geekiki had already noted the program announcement. What changed is the calendar and the content: the update is no longer only a scheduled broadcast. It now has a date, banners and a combat system that remains in later versions.
What arrives in 3.3
In the first half, Phoenix debuts, an S-rank Fire Anomaly agent and fighter for the Krampus Compliance Authority. Her core skill, Nirvana, lets Anomaly damage on marked enemies trigger a critical hit. If she takes a fatal blow, Phoenix can trigger Rebirth and return at full health. She arrives with the S-rank W-Engine Plume of Rebirth.
The second half adds Severian, an S-rank Wind Attack agent and senior commissioner at New Eridu Public Security. Endless Breeze allows an automatic dodge and counter, building energy for continuous slashes. His signature W-Engine is Incarcerating Grip.
First-half reruns are Velina and the W-Engine Joyau Dore. Norma and Chief Sidekick return in the second half. Phoenix’s two new outfits can be bought as a bundle at a limited-time 30% discount. Severian’s Solemnly Impeccable uniform enters the shop when his banner opens.
Mechs and the locked island
In the story, the conflict on Roscaelifer reaches a point where traffic across Booastrum is locked down. The way back onto the island runs through the occupied skyport Quietude Isle. Phoenix and Severian are forced to travel together, while the Proxy lands with Lindverne and moves closer to the truth about the three Sunbringers and the Karma Cores.
Lindverne uses Genesis Reconstruction to create High Ambitions Corp mechs. The Proxy can pilot them, swapping melee and ranged attacks, and fire a stronger laser after an EX Special or a dodge. The mode stays available in future versions, according to the official overview republished by Gematsu.
Events include Night of Supernatural Tricks and the VR game Spooky Funhouse Tales, plus the seasonal Spooky Trial update for Enigma of the Labyrinth. On the systems side, Fairy will suggest teams based on the player’s roster. The version login events give out 10 Encrypted Master Tapes and 10 Boopons.
