The Zelda Ocarina of Time Switch 2 remake arrives exclusively for the Nintendo Switch 2 on November 5, 2026, as part of the franchise's 40th anniversary celebrations.
What's new in the remake?
The 1998 Nintendo 64 classic has been rebuilt with completely overhauled visuals, orchestral music, voiced cutscenes and expanded dialogue. Controls have been modernized with a dedicated jump button, dash and free camera. Players can perform ocarina songs using the Switch 2 microphone by humming or even playing a real instrument. Official Nintendo sources highlight these enhancements for greater accessibility.
Other features include the Hall of Fallen Foes for boss rematches, the Threads of Time system to track progress, HDR and VRR support on compatible TVs, and Zelda Notes integration in the Nintendo app. Estimated download size is about 27 GB. More details on the official Nintendo site.
