Denuvo Anti-Tamper, Irdeto's anti-piracy protection, no longer appears on the Steam listing for Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis, about five months before the February 12, 2027 release. The change is in the SteamDB history on September 30, 2026, and circulated again this week at TechSpot and Prima Games.
What SteamDB records
The game, developed by Flying Wild Hog with Crystal Dynamics and published by Amazon Game Studios, began listing Denuvo in June 2026. On September 30 at 17:30 UTC, the third-party DRM entry disappeared, according to the changelog cited by Tomb Raider Chronicles and Prima Games.
The studios have not published a statement. Removing Denuvo from the listing is not, by itself, confirmation that the final PC version will ship without the DRM.
Why the debate returned
Denuvo is an anti-tamper system: it makes modifying the executable harder and delays attempts to bypass copy protection. Studios usually remove it after launch. Dropping it nearly five months early is the unusual part. Player speculation that it could return has not been confirmed.
The game
Legacy of Atlantis is an Unreal Engine 5 action-adventure that revisits Lara Croft's first expedition, with stops in Peru, Greece, Egypt and an island linked to Atlantis. Launch is set for February 12, 2027, on PC via Steam, PS5, Xbox Series and Nintendo Switch 2. Sources: TechSpot and Tomb Raider Chronicles.
