The Remarried Empress gets a 2027 TV anime from TROYCA

The Remarried Empress is getting a TV anime in 2027. Crunchyroll announced the adaptation at New York Comic Con 2026, with studio TROYCA producing and a main cast already set. The series will stream on the platform when it premieres.

Anime News Network and AniTrendz reported the details. The webtoon by HereLee and SUMPUL adapts Alphatart's novel. ANN says it has passed 2.97 billion global views, has been translated into 10 languages and has a strong following in Japan. The main series ended in January after seven years, with side stories returning this fall.

Who is making The Remarried Empress

  • Yoko Hikasa as Navier
  • Ryohei Kimura as Heinrey
  • Tomoaki Maeno as Sovieshu
  • Reina Ueda as Rashta

Tetsuya Yanagisawa directs at TROYCA. Akiko Inoue supervises and writes the scripts. Jun Nakai designs the characters. Yuki Fukazawa composes the music. An announcement trailer has already been shown, including an English-subtitled version at the Crunchyroll panel.

The story

Navier is empress of the Eastern Empire. When she learns that her husband, Emperor Sovieshu, plans to replace her with his mistress Rashta, she seeks a divorce and sets out to reclaim her status in another realm, alongside Heinrey, a prince of the Western Empire. It is romantic fantasy, not a game isekai.

Why it matters

At the same panel, Crunchyroll, HAYATE and LINE Digital Frontier, part of WEBTOON Entertainment, announced a partnership to adapt about 15 selected webtoon titles. The Remarried Empress is the first concrete name from that slate with a studio, cast and year. A premiere month and episode count have not been confirmed.
