Surface Laptop Ultra: Microsoft opens pre-orders at $2,599 with Nvidia RTX Spark chip

Microsoft has opened pre-orders for the Surface Laptop Ultra starting at $2,599. The laptop, powered by Nvidia RTX Spark, begins shipping on October 16, 2026, and is the most powerful in the Surface line to date.

Key specifications

The RTX Spark chip combines a Blackwell GPU with up to 6,144 cores, a Grace CPU with up to 20 cores, and up to 128 GB of unified memory. It can run AI models with more than 120 billion parameters locally, with up to 1 petaflop of AI performance.

15-inch mini-LED display with 2,000 nits peak HDR, 30% larger haptic trackpad, and new thermal architecture. Magnetic Connect port: the first built-in magnetic USB-C on a laptop.

Pricing and availability

Base configuration: $2,599 (18 cores, 24 GB RAM, 512 GB). Top model reaches $5,899 (20 cores, 128 GB, 1 TB). There is also the Surface RTX Spark Dev Box for $5,999, a mini PC for developers.

There is an offer of up to $1,000 cashback on eligible MacBook Pro trade-ins.
