Sega announced Sonic Racing CrossWorlds Arcade DX, an arcade version of the multiplatform kart racer Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds.
The reveal took place during the Club Chaos event on October 9, 2026, alongside the game’s Year 2 roadmap and the world championship. Arcade DX features a dedicated cabinet with a large vertical screen (around 85 inches) and a ride-on seat, offering a more immersive racing experience for arcades.
What to expect from Arcade DX?
The cabinet uses a motion base and a yoke-style steering wheel, suitable for the flying sections of the races. There is still no confirmed release date or details on which tracks, racers, and exact features will migrate from the home version. The promotional image shows a work-in-progress design.
This marks the series’ return to modern arcade format after the Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing adaptation in 2011. The announcement coincides with the franchise’s 35th anniversary and CrossWorlds Year 2, which includes Duel Mode, new gadgets, and DLCs with Godzilla, Evangelion, Final Fantasy VII, Persona, and Sanrio starting in November 2026.
Why does this matter?
CrossWorlds already received positive feedback for its gameplay and customization. Bringing the experience to arcades expands reach and offers a physical and social way to play. Famitsu and other Japanese outlets highlighted the Arcade DX production.
