Frontier Developments has confirmed that Planet Zoo 2 will launch digitally on October 13, 2026 for PC (Steam and Epic Games Store), PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The game arrives simultaneously on all platforms, something the 2019 original did not do — the console version only arrived in 2024.
What's new?
For the first time in the franchise, players will be able to build fully customizable aquariums for aquatic species and aviaries for birds. In addition, the game introduces Wildlife Reserves, allowing conservation efforts beyond the zoo boundaries by restoring natural habitats and releasing animals.
The Standard edition costs $49.99, while the Deluxe ($64.99) adds six extra species and exclusive signage. Pre-orders include a Bonus Content Pack with a Toucan shop, donation bins and a tiger photo wall. Pre-loads are already available.
The global launch is at 3pm BST (11am BRT). Official Frontier sources and the game site confirm the details and exact times by timezone.
