Phoenix Cyclops is the first post-launch character in Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls. In a PlayStation Blog post on October 7, 2026, Arc System Works producer Takeshi Yamanaka confirmed a November 2 release, Ray Chase on voice, and a 3-hour PlayStation Plus Game Trial starting today. Gematsu also reported it.
What happened?
The 4v4 tag fighter launched on August 6 (August 7 in Japan) for PS5 and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. Phoenix Cyclops is part of the Year 1 Character & Stage Pass. Classic and Legacy costumes arrive on November 2.
Cyclops was a launch candidate, but the studio wanted a different reading. The narrative team proposed the Phoenix Force version, inspired by Avengers vs. X-Men, in which Scott Summers becomes Dark Phoenix. Optic Blasts build Solar Shards; at four, he transforms, with a power boost and a health-drain risk.
