Phoenix Cyclops joins MARVEL Tokon: Fighting Souls on November 2

Phoenix Cyclops arrives on November 2, 2026 as the first post-launch character in MARVEL Tokon: Fighting Souls. The announcement comes from Sony Interactive Entertainment and Arc System Works, in a PlayStation Blog post dated October 7.

The four-versus-four fighter is already available on PlayStation 5 and PC, on Steam and the Epic Games Store. Anyone at EVO France, from October 9 to 11, can try the character at the booth before release.

Why this version of Cyclops

The team says Cyclops was an early candidate for the Unbreakable X-Men roster. Because his visual identity is already well established in Marvel fighting games, the group looked for a different reading. The narrative team proposed the Phoenix version. The result, according to the blog, is a younger-looking Scott Summers who tries to control a destructive power and believes in absolute justice.

In combat he is an all-rounder: optic blasts at range and close strikes, plus wide fire attacks from the Phoenix Force. Using blasts builds Solar Shards. At four, Cyclops enters Dark Phoenix form, with a temporary power boost and a risk of health loss. The mechanic cites Avengers vs. X-Men, in which he is one of the Phoenix Five and later absorbs his teammates' power.

Classic and Legacy costumes will also be available for players who prefer the more familiar look. The blog frames that as a development choice, not a closed price list. DLC pricing does not appear in the sources used here.
