Once Upon a Katamari arrives this Thursday, October 8, 2026, on Nintendo Switch 2. Bandai Namco and RENGAME had dated the version for the same day as the Rolling LIVE Highlights add-on, announced on July 15. The game was already on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Switch and PC via Steam.
On Switch 2, the publisher promises Joy-Con 2 mouse controls, a smoother frame rate and higher-definition graphics than the original Switch version. Mouse controls work in every mode except online Katamari Ball. Owners of the Switch version get a free update with mouse controls and a frame-rate improvement when playing on Switch 2, and can transfer their save if no save already exists on the new console.
What Rolling LIVE Highlights includes
The paid DLC brings material inspired by Katamari Damacy Rolling LIVE, an Apple Arcade title built around livestreaming. The official list includes 10 quests, 12 songs, 18 accessories and six playable cousins: Cameron, Catherine, Jack, Milky, Patch and Phil. Quests named in the announcement include “You Won’t Believe This Katamari,” “Insane Fast-Rolling Katamari” and “Me Singing Karaoke.”
The add-on launches on every platform that already has the base game, not only Switch 2. The physical Switch 2 edition is a game-key card bundle that includes Rolling LIVE Highlights; digitally, the base game and DLC can be bought separately. The English announcement trailer is at youtube.com.
The launch lands in a busy week of Switch 2 ports, but Once Upon a Katamari stands out by bringing stages from a game that had been locked to Apple Arcade onto a home console. Bandai Namco did not list a Brazil price for the DLC in the July announcement.
