Once Upon a Katamari arrives on Switch 2 with the Rolling LIVE Highlights DLC

Once Upon a Katamari is now available on Nintendo Switch 2. Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe confirmed the launch on October 8, 2026, the same day the paid DLC Rolling LIVE Highlights arrived on Switch 2, Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.

The Switch 2 version of Once Upon a Katamari adds mouse controls, a smoother frame rate, and improved visuals over the Switch edition. Players who already own the game on Switch can transfer their save to Switch 2, provided no save already exists on the new console. Owners of the Switch version playing on Switch 2 also get a free performance update and mouse controls.

What the DLC adds

Rolling LIVE Highlights draws on the mobile game Katamari Damacy Rolling LIVE. The pack includes 10 missions, 6 cousins, 12 songs, and 18 accessories. The premise has the King of All Cosmos chasing popularity in the live-streaming world: the Prince rolls a Katamari alongside Earth's streamers to keep the king ahead of the trends.

The base game remains the sequel in which a castle clean-up destroys Earth, the Moon, and countless stars. Guided by a scroll, the Prince and the cousins travel through eras, from prehistory to historic Japan, to restore the sky. The Switch 2 edition is also sold as a physical game-key card bundled with the DLC, in addition to separate digital purchases.

Bandai Namco said a limited-time launch discount is running on participating storefronts. Prices and duration vary by platform. Development is by RENGAME.
