Neural Dawn available for download: mobile game with ray tracing and neural graphics from Arm and Sumo

Arm announced that Neural Dawn, a mobile game co-developed with Sumo Digital, is now available for download. The title serves as a practical demonstration of neural graphics, ray tracing and Unreal Engine MegaLights on mobile devices equipped with the Arm Mali G2-Ultra NX GPU.

Announced in June 2026, the roughly two-hour game across four levels puts the player in the role of a research scientist exploring a cave network, where lighting guides the story and exploration. Now, on October 29, 2026, the company released the download for five devices: OPPO Find X10 Pro Max, vivo X500 Pro and Pro Max (with MediaTek Dimensity 9600 Pro) and Xiaomi 18 Fold and Xiaomi Pad 9 Pro Max (with XRING O3).

What the technology enables

With neural acceleration integrated into the GPU, Neural Dawn uses Neural Super Sampling (NSS) for upscaling, Neural Frame Rate Upscaling for frame generation and denoising for ray-traced scenes, all within a phone’s power limits. It is the first mobile game to use Unreal Engine MegaLights for complex lighting and dynamic shadows in real time.

According to Andy Stewart, CEO of Sumo, the project treated neural graphics as part of the development process, not as a final addition, exploring new storytelling opportunities with cinematic lighting under mobile power constraints.

Why it matters

The availability of Neural Dawn shows that advanced neural graphics and ray tracing techniques are already within reach of players on specific devices, paving the way for more cinematic experiences on mobile. Arm also highlights expanding ecosystem support, with Unity China integrating NSS into the Tuanjie Engine and partnerships with studios such as Tencent and NetEase.

The download is available via APK or specific stores on supported devices, according to Arm’s website.
