Neon Abyss 2 leaves Early Access with boss Theia and Storm Breach mode

Veewo Games ended Early Access for Neon Abyss 2 on October 8, 2026. Version 1.0 arrived the same day on PC (Steam), PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch, with final boss Theia and the Storm Breach mode.

What happened?

According to 4Gamer, Chinese developer Veewo Games and publisher Kepler Ghost confirmed the full launch on Thursday. The game had been in Early Access on Steam since July 17, 2025. The 1.0 date was announced on September 20 during the PC Gaming Show Tokyo Direct and was met on October 8, as Gematsu had reported.

Neon Abyss 2 is a 2D twin-stick roguelike action game with a cybermyth theme. Up to four players descend together into the Abyss, a neon underworld, combining randomly dropped items into build synergies. The Japanese listing on 4Gamer shows a price of 2,300 yen, tax included.

Why it matters

Version 1.0 is more than the removal of an Early Access label. It adds boss Theia, the goddess of vanity, described by 4Gamer as a distorted being in which neon auras melt together. The new Storm Breach mode uses one-way doors and chains fight after fight, with no return between rooms.

Online co-op for up to four players, already in Early Access, is now part of the version treated as complete, including on consoles. The team published a launch trailer with Japanese captions. Official store pages opened for PS5, Xbox and Switch.

What changes in practice

Players who waited for 1.0 get a structurally finished game, a new final boss and a linear ambush mode. Steam players who already owned it receive the full-version content on the same account. On consoles, this is the series debut in that online co-op format.

  • Platforms: PC (Steam), PS5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch.
  • New boss: Theia, goddess of vanity.
  • New mode: Storm Breach, with one-way doors.
  • Co-op: up to four players online.
  • Price in Japan, according to 4Gamer: 2,300 yen including tax.

The developer has already indicated, in store communications, that version 1.0 does not end support. There is no public calendar for further updates.
