Monster Hunter Rise passes 20 million copies, Capcom announces

Capcom has confirmed that Monster Hunter Rise has sold more than 20 million copies worldwide. The announcement came on October 6, 2026, from the game's official Japanese account, with commemorative artwork and a message to hunters.

The team thanks players for their support and asks them to keep following the series. It also notes that digital stores are running a sale for anyone who has not yet started in Kamura.

The last known figure was 19.3 million units as of June 30, 2026, according to Capcom's platinum titles report as covered by Gematsu. The move to 20 million therefore happened during the third quarter.

From a Switch exclusive to a multiplatform catalog

Rise launched in March 2021 on Nintendo Switch and received a PC version soon after. The Sunbreak expansion arrived in 2022. In 2023, the game and expansion came to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series. It is now on Steam, the Microsoft Store and console stores.

The milestone does not include a Switch 2 version. Some replies to the official post asked for exactly that, or for a 60 frames-per-second mode, but Capcom has not confirmed any such plan.

The official account published the commemorative art alongside the milestone. The commercial note is direct: the game remains on sale in digital stores, which helps explain part of the gain after the June figure.

Why the number matters

Rise began as a portable bet in the middle of the pandemic and became one of Capcom's biggest hits outside Monster Hunter World. The 20 million mark shows the audience did not stop when Wilds launched in 2025, and that the Sunbreak cycle plus ports is still selling.
