What happened?
Deep Silver and 4A Games opened pre-orders for Metro 2039 on October 13, 2026. The new chapter in the post-apocalyptic franchise arrives on February 4, 2027 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC (Steam and Epic Games Store). Three editions are available: Standard, Deluxe and Collector’s.
All editions include the full game. Pre-order buyers receive the Specialist Pack as a universal bonus, with three blueprints for backpack upgrades: Equipment Specialist Pouch, Chemtech Specialist Pouch and Munitions Specialist Pouch. Players can equip only one at a time.
Why is this important?
Metro 2039 marks 4A Games’ return to the universe created by Dmitry Glukhovsky after the success of Metro Exodus. The game features the protagonist known as The Stranger and explores Hunter’s regime in the Moscow Metro. The Deluxe Edition includes post-launch story expansion DLC, digital artbook and soundtrack. The Collector’s Edition features a wearable replica Spartan helmet.
4A Games continues developing the title with teams in Malta and Ukraine amid the ongoing conflict.
What changes in practice?
Fans can secure the game early and choose the edition that best fits them. Standard costs around $69.99, digital Deluxe $99.99, and Collector’s reaches higher prices with the helmet. The Specialist Pack gives an early edge in exploration and crafting upgrades.
The February 2027 launch places Metro 2039 in a competitive window alongside other major titles.
