Insomniac Games released PS5 update 1.002.001 for Marvel's Wolverine, adding a control part of the community wanted since launch: turning off story scent trails. The studio announced it on X on October 6, 2026.
The new option is a hint button, R3 by default, that toggles narrative scent trails. Insomniac says recent updates give more control over scents, audio cues and Nightmare Roots. The patch also addresses crashes and bugs. Public notes do not list every fix.
Marvel's Wolverine launched on September 15, 2026, as a PS5 exclusive. Update 1.002.001 does not remove the system: it makes the story-related part optional. It does not change platforms, price or story content.
