Marvel Midnight debuts today with X-Men, Spider-Man, and Fantastic Four

The Marvel Midnight imprint reaches stores this Wednesday, October 7, 2026, with three number ones. Marvel lists Midnight X-Men, Midnight Spider-Man, and Midnight Fantastic Four as this week's new issues, the start of a horror parallel universe.

What Marvel Midnight debuts

Midnight X-Men #1 is written by Jonathan Hickman and drawn by Matteo Della Fonte. The publisher describes New York stalked by vampires and by mutants called empyres, with a war forming between the two species and between internal factions. Those who have not been turned are caught in the middle. The series had been announced for August and was moved to October.

Midnight Spider-Man #1 is by Phillip Kennedy Johnson and ScieTronc. In the official premise, a young man is transformed into a spider hybrid by Oscorp, which is seeking the secret of eternal life. When the company uses the mutation to create other human-animal hybrids, he has to accept the new form to fight back.

Midnight Fantastic Four #1 is by Benjamin Percy and Kev Walker. An obsessive scientist investigates secrets of the universe that Marvel describes as best left unknown and ends up warped, along with three other people. The issue asks what dimensions have been opened and whether humanity survives the discovery.

Why it matters

The official list also includes collections, such as All-New X-Men: Yesterday's X-Men, and digital issues on Marvel Unlimited, among them What If…? Secret Wars #1 and Star Wars: Rogue One — Saw Gerrera #1. The core of the week, though, is the Marvel Midnight trio: three horror restarts, not direct continuations of the regular series.

The weekly listing is on Marvel's site: October 7's New Marvel Comics.
