Nexon opened the official Japanese service for Mabinogi Mobile on Wednesday, October 7, 2026. The new online RPG brings the world of classic Mabinogi to PC and smartphones, with life skills, exploration and social play on the same service.
What happened?
The date was confirmed in a Nexon Japan release on September 17. At that point the company said pre-registration had already passed 200,000 people. On October 1, a follow-up notice raised the figure to more than 300,000 and opened pre-download plus character creation from October 5 at 2 p.m. Japan time.
Early character creation closed on October 6 at 8 p.m. Formal service began the next day. Famitsu listed the title among October PC releases and described it as a Mabinogi-universe game for computer and phone.
Why it matters
Mabinogi is one of Nexon's longest-running online RPGs, known for mixing combat, life skills and a world players shape at their own pace. Bringing that pitch to phones without dropping PC widens the Japanese audience and tests whether the original social fantasy works in shorter sessions.
The jump from 200,000 to more than 300,000 pre-registrations in about two weeks shows local interest before the servers opened. Nexon also tied the campaign to Tokyo Game Show 2026, placing the game on Japan's October release calendar alongside titles Famitsu highlighted such as Final Fantasy Resonance and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4.
What changes in practice
Players who pre-downloaded can log in without waiting on a large day-one package. Famitsu says the game includes fishing, cooking and gathering, plus social moments such as dancing around a campfire and playing instruments with other players.
