Go with the Clouds, North-by-Northwest gets a trailer, cast and a 2027 debut on TBS and Netflix

The anime of Hokuhokusei ni Kumo to Yuke (Go with the Clouds, North-by-Northwest), Aki Irie's manga, received on October 8, 2026 its first promotional video, a key visual and confirmation of a 2027 premiere. The series will air on TBS and stream worldwide exclusively on Netflix.

The adaptation had already been announced in April. What is new on Thursday is the production stage: staff, studio, lead voice, trailer and broadcast window. Qzil.la's release says the new Gram21 label will handle the animation.

Staff and voice

Takashi Sano is general director and series composer. Yosuke Kubo directs. Chikashi Kubota designs the characters. Tomohiro Ono plays Kei Miyama. Animation production is by Qzil.la (Gram21).

The story is set in Iceland, at 64º N. Kei is 17 and has three secrets: he can talk to cars, he cannot handle pretty girls, and he works as a private investigator. Cases range from a missing dog to a search for his younger brother.

Where the manga comes from

Irie began serialization in 2016 in Harta. The series moved to Kadokawa's Aokishi and, after the magazine stopped running it in February 2025, Yukiwariso took over. The first volume of the second series shipped on April 30. The seventh volume of the original series reached Japan in 2024. Kodansha USA publishes the manga in English; Vertical licensed the title in 2018.

There is still no exact premiere month, episode count or full cast beyond Kei. The official site is hokuhokusei-pr.com.
