Gran Turismo 7 Spec IV Part 1 arrives October 15 in Brasília time

The Gran Turismo 7 Spec IV Part 1 now has a date. Polyphony Digital and Sony have scheduled the first half of the free update. On the official PlayStation channel, the update 1.72 trailer says the pack starts rolling out on October 14 at 11 p.m. Pacific, which is October 15 at 3 a.m. in Brasília, 7 a.m. in London and 3 p.m. in Japan.

What update 1.72 adds

The PS5, PS4 and PS VR2 game adds the Sportsland SUGO circuit, six new cars and Car Concierge, described by PlayStation itself as a way to order Used and Legend cars. Push Square's coverage of the trailer also lists the 1987 Honda Civic Si Group A, the 2023 Honda Step WGN Spada Premium Line, the 1986 Citroën 2CV 6 Charleston, the 1994 Ferrari F355 Berlinetta, the 2026 Mazda RX-Vision GT3 EVO and the Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo.

What Spec IV already promised

Spec IV was announced in September on gran-turismo.com as the generation's largest free pack, split into two stages ahead of the series' 30th anniversary in 2027. The October stage also includes a new opening, a Vintage section for cars that can no longer be bought new, the Experience mode with brand challenges, Car Viewer and a higher Collector Level cap.

Part 2 still has no firm date, only a December window. The original announcement lists Autumn Ring, six more cars, Family mode, Shuffle Race, Online Drift Trial, an evolution of Gran Turismo Sophy and an extra Power Pack difficulty. GTPlanet noted that the BMW M5 E60, shown earlier, was moved to that second wave rather than update 1.72.

This trailer does not announce Gran Turismo 8 or a change in how the game is distributed. What is confirmed is the 1.72 schedule and the content described by PlayStation and the official site.
