Game Boy Advance metroidvania Goodboy Galaxy has arrived on Nintendo Switch on October 30, 2026. This is classified here as CONFIRMED: the date appears on Nintendo's official page, the game's official site and the North American Nintendo Download, which lists the title at $34.99.
Players control Maxwell, a dog whose homeworld is on the verge of collapse. After a hyperjump to seek help, he is stranded at the edge of a hostile system and must find friends — and weapons — to try to return and save his world.
The Switch version keeps the original's structure: levels with multiple routes, more than 50 friends to meet and friendship cards to collect, blaster upgrades, hidden areas and boss battles. It also includes local couch co-op and the prequel content Chapter Zero, plus minigames.
According to the official site, the digital version launched worldwide on the Nintendo eShop on October 30, with a physical edition in the United Kingdom and the European Union via Bitmap Bureau; a physical release in the United States was not yet confirmed, and Asian eShop pages were scheduled for November 5. No native version for platforms other than Switch, Game Boy Advance and PC has been confirmed — so the Switch edition should not be mistaken for a separate Switch 2 release.
For Brazilian players, one practical detail: Nintendo's page lists Brazilian Portuguese among the supported languages, alongside Japanese, British English, French, German, Spanish, Korean and Simplified Chinese. The listed file size is 436 MB.
