Epic Mickey: Rebrushed now has a Nintendo Switch 2 edition. Japanese site Game*Spark reported on October 8, 2026 that the game reached the country's Nintendo Store, with higher-resolution visuals, an improved frame rate and mouse-style controls using Joy-Con 2. The local price is 5,170 yen, tax included.
What happened?
Epic Mickey: Rebrushed is the 2024 remaster of 2011's Epic Mickey, the Wii game in which Mickey paints the world with a magic brush or erases obstacles. The Switch 2 version includes the costume pack, according to Game*Spark and the Nintendo Life listing. Chinese outlet ZOL also described the October 8 launch, with Joy-Con 2 pointer support.
Anyone who already bought the game on the original Switch gets a free update to run the optimized build on Switch 2 and keeps their progress. Game*Spark notes it is still unclear whether that update matches the standalone edition in features and content. Nintendo Life, on an earlier page, listed October 6 and US$39.99 on another storefront, and confirmed the upgrade path from the Switch version. Dates can vary by region; what is confirmed for Japan is availability on October 8.
Why it matters
Epic Mickey: Rebrushed is one of the few Disney games with the tone of a forgotten cartoon: retired characters live at the edge of memory, and the player decides how much to restore or erase. On Switch 2, the brush fits Joy-Con 2 used as a mouse, the same pointing style Nintendo has been pushing for precise interfaces.
The game has also been on iOS and Android since September 18, 2026, Game*Spark said. The console edition remains the reference for players who want the remaster with the costume pack and a frame rate tuned to the new hardware. The publisher is THQ Nordic.
What changes in practice?
- Switch 2: higher resolution, improved fluidity and Joy-Con 2 mouse controls. Exact resolution and fps figures were not published.
- Content: Costume Pack included in the Switch 2 edition of Epic Mickey: Rebrushed.
- Price in Japan: 5,170 yen with tax.
- Switch owners: free update with saves kept; full parity with the standalone edition was not confirmed.
