The Dark Arisen expansion for Dragon’s Dogma 2 launches on October 9, 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC (Steam) and Nintendo Switch 2. Players who already own the base game buy the add-on for $29.99 on PS5, Xbox and PC. On Switch 2, the package bundles the original game and Dark Arisen.
What is in the package
Dark Arisen sends the Arisen to the frozen north of Norgan. Capcom describes a new snow region, a second undead dragon, twelve dungeons — the “forgotten trials” — and an endgame item system of battle relics in a hack-and-slash style. There are also new character-creator options. Famitsu previewed a developer interview on those dungeons and the Dark Arisen region in its October 8 weekly issue.
On PS5, Xbox and Steam the expansion is DLC for people who already own Dragon’s Dogma 2. A bundle of the base game plus Dark Arisen is listed at a $49.99 MSRP. Pre-orders include the Norgan Fashion Set. PS4, Xbox One and the original Switch are not part of the platform announcement. Nintendo UK lists Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen on Switch 2 for the same October 9, alongside other October releases such as the Kingdom Hearts Collection.
Why Steam may show October 8
Capcom’s official date for Dark Arisen is October 9 on every platform. The US Steam page can show October 8 because of time zones: an October 9 UTC unlock falls on the previous evening in the Americas. On PS5, store listings cite 4:00 UTC on the 9th.
In practice
Dragon’s Dogma 2 launched in 2024. Dark Arisen is the first major paid content drop and also the native Switch 2 debut, where game and DLC ship together. Players who already finished the game on PS5, Xbox or PC do not need to buy it again: the $29.99 add-on unlocks Norgan and the Dark Arisen dungeons.
