Dragon's Dogma 2 Dark Arisen arrives on October 9, 2026 for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2. Capcom treats that date as the global launch of the expansion, which sends the Arisen to the frozen north of Norgan and, on Switch 2, bundles the base game with the new content.
What happened?
In its June 10, 2026 release, Capcom confirmed October 9 and the four platforms. The Switch 2 version is the debut of Dragon's Dogma 2 on that console: the package combines the original game and the Dark Arisen expansion. On PC, PS5 and Xbox, Dragon's Dogma 2 Dark Arisen is paid DLC for owners of the base game.
The official site describes three additions. Forsaken Dominion is another tale of ruin in the far north, in the region of Norgan. Lost Rites gathers 12 dungeon challenges. There are also new hairstyles and tattoos for the Arisen and Pawns. The pre-order and early-adopter bonus is the Norgan fashion set.
In the same release, Capcom notes that the series, which began in 2012, has passed 14 million units sold cumulatively. The 2024 game remains an open-world action RPG built around Pawns, companions that act on their own and can be sent to other worlds.
Why it matters
Dragon's Dogma 2 Dark Arisen repeats the subtitle of the classic expansion for the first Dragon's Dogma, but the announced content is different: a snowy north, relics earned by hunting monsters, and a dungeon block separate from the main campaign. It is not a remake of Bitterblack Isle.
Outlets reproducing Capcom's Steam and Xbox timing map point to one global instant: 00:00 UTC on October 9, which is 9 p.m. on October 8 in Brasília. PC Gamer also lists the DLC at about 25 GB and says preload was not available when it reported. On PlayStation, the same coverage points to local midnight on October 9, except in the Pacific time zone.
What changes in practice?
- Owners on PC, PS5 or Xbox buy only the expansion; on Switch 2 the Dragon's Dogma 2 Dark Arisen package includes the base game.
- Confirmed new content is Norgan, 12 dungeons and visual options, plus the pre-order bonus.
- The exact hour depends on the store and time zone: Capcom's official date is October 9.
