Dokkaebi's World launched on Thursday, October 8, 2026. The 2.5D MMORPG from Kakao Games, developed by Supercat, is on PC and mobile, with pixel-art characters over 3D backgrounds. The publisher ties the look to traditional Korean aesthetics. The Korean title is Dokkaebi-ui Segye.
What happened?
Inven Global confirmed the official launch of Dokkaebi's World on October 8. Korean outlet DataNews had said the release was set for 11:00 Korea time, with pre-download already open. On PC, the download goes through Google Play Games and the official launcher. On mobile, the game is on the Google Play Store and the App Store.
Dokkaebi's World adapts the Naver web novel and webtoon Myeonggwisudojeon. Combat does not use fixed classes. Players combine styles and a technique system called dosul, which Kakao Games highlighted on the official site before launch.
What changes in practice
To mark the release, Kakao Games opened a 28-day attendance event. Daily logins grant rewards and, at the end, a Hero's Protection selection box. Drops are also running on Chzzk and SOOP. Watching Dokkaebi's World streams for a set period awards in-game coupons.
Cha Myeong-su, head of Kakao Games' business division, told Inven that the team used player feedback while preparing the game and intends to keep adjusting operations after launch. DataNews also reported a promotion of up to 90% off purchases through Google Play Games on PC, running from 11:00 on October 8 to 23:59 on October 17, with limited coupons that end early if stock runs out.
Why it matters
Dokkaebi's World arrives as Korean hybrid-art MMORPGs try to outlast a short launch spike. Kakao Games is betting on a free-to-play title with optional purchases, anchored to a webtoon IP and classless combat. There are no official concurrent-player figures yet, and no confirmed servers outside South Korea.
