Modern Warfare 4 DMZ details the base, level 70 and the Hajin map

Modern Warfare 4 DMZ received its first official structural breakdown. In a PlayStation Blog post by Activision writer Daniel Noel, Infinity Ward describes the base, progression and Hajin map of the extraction shooter that launches with the campaign and multiplayer on October 23, 2026. PlayStation Brazil republished the guide on Tuesday.

The base and what it unlocks

The Forward Operating Base is the command center. At the start, players can already use operators, DMZ Orders, stash and loadout, a firing range and the deploy point. Completing operations in Hajin expands the base. Later stations include a 3D printer for crafting, a Gunsmith that spends DMZ Cash and extracted weapon manuals, a vendor with rotating stock, a bounty leaderboard, a boss board and a dog-tag case.

The DMZ progression track runs from level 1 to 70 and unlocks stations and rewards.

How deployment works

There are three ways in:

  • Story Missions: replayable narrative objectives with larger rewards.
  • Dynamic Operations: direct missions that pay DMZ Cash, XP and a Supply Drop of rising rarity for the squad.
  • Free Roam: a drop with no mission, for exploring Hajin City.

Activision recommends prioritizing missions, hunting Lieutenants and Commanders, and looting for the 3D printer. An after-action report rewards S-tier performance or better. Each Hajin area has a threat level: too much noise draws an enemy response specific to that region. Vehicles cover land, water and air, with refueling at gas stations.

The blog does not list the game's price or confirm whether DMZ will be free for players who do not buy Modern Warfare 4. What is described is the mode at the October 23 launch, with more content promised in updates. Covering the same post, GameSpot notes that Hajin was built from the ground up for DMZ, unlike Al Mazrah in Modern Warfare II, and cites points of interest such as a prison, airbase, hospital, reactor and stadium.
