MINTROCKET announced on Thursday, October 8, 2026, during the Triple-i Initiative, the last major expansion for DAVE THE DIVER: the Subnautica 2 Content Pack, made with Unknown Worlds Entertainment. The content will be free and arrives in early 2027.
In the pack, Dave and Bancho cross between dimensions and explore the waters of Proteus, the ocean moon of Subnautica 2. The idea is to blend Dave's fishing, sushi and bar management with Unknown Worlds' underwater exploration: unfamiliar creatures, new resources, exotic recipes and periodic confrontations with the Leviathan. MINTROCKET told PC Gamer that the Nibbler Mango, one of Subnautica 2's creatures, is in the game.
A collaboration players had asked for
MINTROCKET studio director Jaeho Hwang said in the release that a Subnautica partnership was a long-standing player request, and that both games are set underwater but approach that setting differently. Anthony Gallegos, creative director of Subnautica 2, called the expansion a love letter to both universes.
DAVE THE DIVER has already crossed over with brands such as Balatro, Yakuza, Godzilla and Guilty Gear. This time the partner is a game that has not launched yet: the content arrives before Subnautica 2 and works as a showcase of Proteus creatures and tone inside an established game.
The end of major DLCs, not necessarily the series
MINTROCKET told PC Gamer this will be the last major DLC for DAVE THE DIVER. The studio left the door open to smaller updates or further collaborations, depending on player feedback and internal plans. There is no date beyond “early 2027” and no full platform list for the expansion; the base game is already on PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, Switch, Switch 2, iOS and Android.
The pack can already be wishlisted on Steam.
