What was announced by Crunchyroll?

The first three titles presented by Crunchyroll are The Remarried Empress, Teenage Mercenary and The Boxer, with trailers and promotional art already released.

Crunchyroll partnership details

Each anime will be based on webcomics available on the Line Digital Frontier app. The Crunchyroll initiative expands the portfolio and reinforces the trend of adapting digital-native stories into anime format, capitalizing on the global success of webtoons.

Why does the Crunchyroll partnership matter?

With webtoons becoming one of the main sources of IP for animation, this partnership allows Crunchyroll to participate from the beginning of the projects. This can bring more high-quality titles and expand access to Korean and international stories for anime fans worldwide.

Crunchyroll's announcements also included updates on game adaptations such as Sekiro: No Defeat and Ghost of Tsushima Legends. Production of the potential 15 titles is still in the joint development phase.
