Creality K3: 3D printer with 4 independent nozzles that swaps in 5 seconds

What happened?

Creality announced and opened pre-sales in China for the Creality K3, its new flagship 3D printer with the KliTek nozzle-changing system. The machine has four channels and four independent nozzles, allowing swaps in about 4.8 to 5 seconds, which reduces print time by up to 80% and filament waste by about 85% compared to single-nozzle multicolor printers.

The Creality K3 supports 0.2 mm, 0.4 mm, 0.6 mm and 0.8 mm nozzles in the same job, optimizes TPU printing (including mixes of different hardness), and offers CMYK full-color printing through physical blending of translucent filaments. Build volume is 260 x 260 x 260 mm, max speed 500 mm/s, and launch price in China is about 4,599 yuan (approx. US$ 680), with expectation of under US$ 900 internationally.

Why does this matter?

Traditional multicolor 3D printers waste a lot of material with purges on every color change. The independent nozzle system of the Creality K3 eliminates this problem, making multi-material and multicolor printing more accessible and efficient for makers, prototyping and production. Repositioning accuracy below 25 μm after hundreds of thousands of swaps and the 37 sensors ensure consistent quality.

Creality's Chinese origin reinforces the advance of Asian manufacturers in the consumer 3D printing segment, where they already dominate a large part of the global market.

What changes in practice?

Users will be able to print complex parts with multiple colors and materials (including flexible TPU combined with rigid) in a single session, without excessive filament loss. Integration with Creality Print and OrcaSlicer, AI camera for problem detection and open design with root access facilitate customization. Pre-sales are open in China; global launch is expected soon.
