Code Geass: Lost Stories will end service in Japan on December 7, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. Japan time. The full name is Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion Lost Stories. The official account and support site published the notice on Wednesday, October 7.
What happened?
The Japanese operation of Code Geass: Lost Stories began in May 2022, on smartphones and on PC via the DMM Game Player. The team thanked players for about four years and seven months of service. Sales of paid Sakuradite, the Lost Stories Pass, and starter packs ended on October 7 at 5:00 p.m. Japan time, according to the official schedule.
The English version, launched for iOS and Android in September 2023, had already shut down in August 2024. The new notice covers the Japanese service. Anime News Network reported the statement from the official site and the X account.
Context
Code Geass: Lost Stories is a free-to-play action RPG with optional purchases, set in the Code Geass universe. Rock band FLOW performed the original theme “Pendulum.” The project was once slated as a browser game for winter 2018, lost its window, and was restarted in November 2021 by DMM Games with development by f4samurai.
The franchise is marking 20 years with other projects, including the anime Code Geass: Hoshi Oi no Aspal (Aspal the Star Chaser), a musical, and an exhibition. On September 15, JORO launched the separate game Code Geass Knightmare Survivor for iOS and Android, also free-to-play with optional purchases. The end of Code Geass: Lost Stories was not presented as the end of those other projects.
What it means
Players of the Japanese version of Code Geass: Lost Stories have until December 7 at 3:00 p.m. to use their accounts. Paid Sakuradite has not been on sale since October 7. Further details are expected in the in-game notices.
