Castlevania: Belmont's Curse launches October 15 on PS5, Xbox, PC and Switch

What happened?

Castlevania: Belmont's Curse hits stores on October 15, 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC and Nintendo Switch. Developed by Evil Empire with Motion Twin support and published by Konami, it is a 2D action-exploration metroidvania following Rose Belmont, Trevor's daughter, 23 years after Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse. The title Belmont's Curse celebrates the series' 40th anniversary.

A demo has been available on all platforms since October 1, letting players explore the opening areas and face the first boss, with progress carrying over to the full game.

Why is this important?

After years without a new mainline Castlevania in the classic exploration style, Belmont's Curse brings back the Vampire Killer whip, fluid combat and interconnected maps with a refreshed gothic atmosphere. The Arcana system lets you seal bosses into tarot cards to use their skills, while weapons and relics offer playstyle customization.

Simultaneous presence on Switch, at 30 fps on the portable version, expands access to an audience that values the series' legacy. Standard and Midnight editions are available, the latter with art and music gallery. Belmont's Curse is the Halloween highlight for metroidvania fans.

What changes in practice?

Metroidvania fans have a heavyweight new title for Halloween, with an accessible price (around $29.99 for Standard). The demo lets you test combat pacing and exploration before buying. The October 15 launch positions the game as one of the month's highlights.
