Arc Raiders 2.0 Frozen Trail drives player count to 7-month high with new map and free weekend

The extraction shooter Arc Raiders, by Embark Studios, received its biggest update since launch: version 2.0 Frozen Trail, which arrived on October 8 and continues to draw players back.

New map and content

The highlight is the Pendola Pass map, a mountainous and icy region beyond the Rust Belt, featuring a fallen Emperor, Flash Freeze weather and points of interest such as a supermarket, town square, observatory and train depot. New enemies include Bully, Skulker and Hydra, plus Bantam and Stiletto weapons, amplified weapons and a grappling hook.

The update also revamped the skill tree, added the Outpost system with a research bench, a new Reward Pass and improvements to the quest system.

Impact on player count

Combined with a free weekend (October 8–12), the update pushed the concurrent player count on Steam to a 7-month high. Fans highlight the Spider-Man-style grappling hook and the amount of new content as key attractions.

Frozen Trail is free for all owners of the game and represents a milestone in the title's lifespan.
