Aion 2 opens global free-to-play access this Monday at 10:00 Brasília time

Aion 2 opens global free-to-play access on PC this Monday, October 5, 2026. NC set the server opening for 13:00 UTC, which is 10:00 a.m. in Brasília. The client is on Steam and the PURPLE launcher.

The game has already been live in South Korea and Taiwan since November 19, 2025, on PC, iOS, and Android. The worldwide window, once pointed at September, was delayed to October 5, as NC announced and Gematsu reported in August. Founder's Pack buyers had early access from September 30 to October 4.

On the Steam page, NC describes a world about 36 times larger than the original Aion, built in Unreal Engine 5, with aerial combat as a design axis: the player ascends as a Daeva, and verticality applies to exploration and fighting, not only travel. The listing also includes in-game purchases.

Before the free opening, NC posted scheduled server maintenance. Player reports on X this morning say maintenance is still underway and that preloading is available on Steam; those are user statements, not a new company bulletin. The Steam page, checked this Monday, still listed the game as due October 5, with about 3,458 English reviews, 74% positive — a figure that mostly reflects early access, not the first free-to-play day.

What changes for players waiting in Brazil

The launch is a single worldwide time. At 10:00 a.m. Brasília time, servers are set to open with the rest of the planet if maintenance ends on the schedule NC gave. The Founder's Pack, according to guides reproducing the company's calendar, stops being sold at 15:00 UTC — noon in Brasília.

Aion 2 is not a small sequel to the 2008 MMORPG. It is the global version of a service NC already runs in Asia, now without a PC entry paywall. What this piece does not settle is first-day server stability and how heavy the cash shop feels once early access ends.
