Zelda Ocarina of Time Switch 2: overview trailer reveals Hall of Fallen Heroes and November 5 launch

What happened?

Zelda Ocarina of Time Switch 2 received a five-minute overview trailer on Wednesday (October 14). Nintendo showed the remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, arriving on November 5, 2026 with overhauled visuals, fully voiced cutscenes, symphonic orchestral music and various gameplay improvements.

Among the highlighted novelties is the Hall of Fallen Heroes, a place where statues of defeated enemies are displayed. Players can learn more about each monster and rematch bosses, including with a timer to challenge best times.

Why is this important?

Ocarina of Time is one of the most influential games in video game history. The Switch 2 remake modernizes the experience without losing the essence of the 1998 original. Features such as a dedicated jump button, free camera, dash after rolling, quick item switching and music recognition via the console microphone make the title more accessible for new players and more fluid for veterans.

Integration with the Nintendo Switch app via Zelda Notes also expands the experience, allowing progress tracking, quizzes and rewards outside the game.

What changes in practice?

Fans will be able to hum melodies into the Switch 2 microphone to play the ocarina in the game, or use a physical ocarina accessory. Time passes in real time in towns, unlike the original. New amiibo of Young Link and Young Zelda arrive in 2027 and unlock special masks.
