Xsolla has acquired GamePix, a platform specialized in publishing and distributing browser games, with the goal of offering a single path from creation to global monetization, including titles made with artificial intelligence.
What happened?
The announcement was made on October 29, 2026. GamePix brings a catalog of more than 10,000 web games and a community of over 4,000 developers. Its porting technology converts Unity and C++ titles (PC and mobile) into browser builds up to 90% smaller, with no installation required.
Xsolla adds its commerce infrastructure: payments across more than 200 geographies, over 1,000 payment methods, and engagement tools. For AI-created games, the idea is to let creators publish directly from inside AI tools and go live in minutes, with distribution and payments already configured.
Why it matters
The browser remains one of the most open platforms for games. With the growth of AI tools that allow playable games to be created in a short time, the main barrier becomes reaching an audience and monetizing. The Xsolla + GamePix combination seeks to reduce that friction.
Chris Hewish, president of Xsolla, said that “the browser is the most open platform for video games” and that GamePix has built one of the strongest web ecosystems of the last decade. Edouard Wawra, CEO and co-founder of GamePix, highlighted that the bet on the web becomes even more ambitious with AI: “anyone can create games” and there is now scale to reach players worldwide.
Context
GamePix was founded in 2013 and followed the evolution from Flash to HTML5, WebGL, WebGPU, and now AI-generated games. The acquisition (financial terms not disclosed) positions Xsolla to serve both traditional studios and the new wave of AI-assisted creators.
So far, there are no detailed information about immediate changes to the player experience or specific timelines for deep integration.
