Koei Tecmo and Team NINJA published on October 23, 2026 the feedback report for the Wo Long 2: Wings of Ember alpha demo, listing the adjustments coming to the full game. The demo ran from September 16 to 30 and featured the open field of Changban, with the player fighting alongside Liu Bei's army against Cao Cao's forces.
What changes in combat
The studio's main message is to make combat more aggressive and readable. The Insight Skill system, seen as too complex by players, will get improved success detection and wider timing windows for Deflects and Insight Skills, and a successful Insight Skill will restore more Spirit. Strong Attacks and Martial Arts will cut deeper into the enemy's maximum Spirit gauge, while Martial Arts and Wizardry Spells will become stronger.
Community-requested changes are also included: players will be able to switch weapons mid-air and cast Wizardry Spells while airborne, aerial attacks will track targets better, and enemy Critical Blow telegraphs will be more visible. Airborne enemies will no longer move to unreachable heights, according to the report.
Optimization, co-op and interface
On the technical side, Team NINJA promises to stabilize the frame rate, shorten Fast Travel and retry loading times, reduce model pop-in, and improve textures, lighting and the visibility of effects such as Demonic Qi and fire. Controls and camera will also be adjusted, with more gamepad and keyboard customization options.
Co-op gets two important fixes: guests will be able to move farther from the host and progress will now be saved when playing in co-op, alongside improved matchmaking stability. The interface will also be revised, with a map that zooms out further, exploration-element counts per region and markers for missed elements after clearing a battlefield.
