Valve announced on October 15, 2026 the beta launch of Steam Achievement Sets, a new feature that allows organizing a game's achievements into separate sets. The novelty arrives to solve common problems for completionists, such as DLCs that prevent 100% or seasonal events that become impossible to complete with Steam Achievement Sets.
What are Steam Achievement Sets?
With Steam Achievement Sets, developers can now group related achievements into collections with their own progress bars. There are two main types: Base Game Sets (displayed in blue) and DLC Sets (in purple). DLC achievements do not count toward overall progress until the player has access to the content.
In addition, it is possible to archive seasonal or limited-time event sets. Completing a set grants a "set complete" trophy on the profile, and previous completion is preserved even if new achievements are added later in Steam Achievement Sets.
How it works in practice
The Steam Achievement Sets feature is available in the Steam Client beta. Games that already support it include Portal 2, Team Fortress 2, Left 4 Dead 2, Forza Horizon 5, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, DREDGE and others. The achievements page has been updated to show progress by sets and allow comparison with friends.
It is not necessary to update the game or SDK to start using Steam Achievement Sets; configuration is done entirely in Steamworks. More information in the official Steam announcement.
