Universal Cool Japan 2027 to feature Fullmetal Alchemist and Daemons

Universal Studios Japan (USJ) announced on October 28 a new wave of attractions for Universal Cool Japan 2027: collaborations based on two works by Hiromu Arakawa, Fullmetal Alchemist and Daemons of the Shadow Realm (Yomi no Tsugai). The two additions join a lineup that already includes Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon, The Apothecary Diaries and Detective Conan.

When it starts

Universal Cool Japan 2027 will roll out gradually from December 2, 2026, and is expected to run for around six months. The two Arakawa attractions are scheduled for spring 2027 in Japan, but details of each experience have not yet been revealed.

Fullmetal Alchemist returns after 22 years

This will be Fullmetal Alchemist's second collaboration with the park. The first was the Fullmetal Alchemist Premiere Tour in spring 2005, marking USJ's first collaboration with a Japanese television anime. More than two decades later, the franchise returns to the annual event dedicated to Japanese entertainment.

Daemons of the Shadow Realm

Daemons of the Shadow Realm is serialized in Monthly Shonen Gangan, received a television anime adaptation in spring 2026 and already has a second season confirmed. The park has also teased further collaborations, exclusive merchandise and themed food yet to be announced.
