Brazilian physical AI startup Tractian has announced a $130 million Series D round valuing the company at $1.4 billion. The announcement was made on October 22, 2026, with the round led by Sapphire Ventures and co-led by Catalyst, M&G's growth equity strategy.
N47, General Catalyst, Bosch Ventures, 53 Stations, Monashees, Endeavor Catalyst, Norte Ventures and Y Combinator also took part. According to Dealroom, the valuation nearly doubles the $720 million from the December 2024 Series C, also led by Sapphire.
What Tractian does
Founded in 2019, Tractian installs sensors on industrial machines and uses artificial intelligence to monitor their health. The sensors measure vibration, ultrasound, temperature, pressure and water level, among other variables, and the platform turns those signals into a diagnosis, identifying possible causes of failure and recommending an action plan to the operator.
The company says its technology is already in more than 2,000 facilities worldwide, with customers including Eli Lilly, McKesson, Whirlpool, Coca-Cola bottling operations, Cummins and Embraer, as well as data center operators and government infrastructure. The company is headquartered in Atlanta, has offices in Monterrey, São Paulo and Poland, and employs more than 700 people.
Where the money goes
According to the announcement, the funding will accelerate the platform's multimodal intelligence and expand research and development in physical AI, including the purchase of NVIDIA processors. Dealroom also reports that Tractian's annualized recurring revenue passed $100 million in September 2026, up 90% year over year.
The backdrop is the cost of unplanned downtime: a Siemens study cited in the announcement estimates that such interruptions cost about 11% of annual revenue for the world's 500 largest industrial companies, around $1.4 trillion a year. That is where Tractian is betting: turning a sensor signal into a maintenance decision before the line stops.
