Siri AI App Intents arrives with Apple's Developer Preview on iOS 27.3, iPadOS 27.3, macOS 27.3 and visionOS 27.3. Any app can integrate custom actions and content into Siri AI using App Intents.
What happened?
Starting November 3, 2026, the preview allows developers to bring custom content and actions directly into Siri AI via Siri AI App Intents. This includes personal context understanding, onscreen awareness and natural language. Examples include checking a delivery, booking a reservation or placing an order just by asking Siri.
Apple also introduces "skills" that let developers teach Siri AI to combine several actions into a single request. Siri AI can now surface any entity in the Spotlight semantic index, not just those that fit predefined schemas. Similar capabilities are already rolling out in Apple apps like Calendar, Mail, Maps and Photos.
Why does this matter?
Until now, Siri integrations were limited to categories defined by Apple. With Siri AI App Intents, any developer can create custom actions and reach users more naturally. Siri AI is available in languages including English, French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish, with more planned.
The preview provides early access before customer launch in a few months, and App Store submissions open in the spring. Apple is offering engineer labs on November 4 and 5 for feedback. Note: Siri AI is currently unavailable in the EU on iOS, iPadOS and watchOS, and not for users under 13. Some server-side features have daily limits, with expanded paid access in the future.
What changes in practice?
Developers can make their apps more discoverable and useful via voice, allowing users to ask for help in natural language without specifically mentioning the app in some contexts. This expands the Apple Intelligence and Siri AI ecosystem beyond native apps.
